Pegasus offers a variety of drug and alcohol testing options to assist employees, employers, legal representatives and private individuals with personal and legal matters. Whether it’s a one-time hair follicle test or enrolment in our Random Testing Program, you can rely on Pegasus to deliver timely verified, and defensible biological testing results.
Laboratory-Based Tests
Laboratory-Based Tests for hair, urine, oral fluid and blood are considered legally defensible. Samples are collected under strict testing protocols by Certified Specimen Collectors, and sent to a certified laboratory for analysis. Chain of Custody documentation from beginning to end ensures the validity of each sample, and the laboratory result is reviewed by a certified Medical Review Officer prior to release.
Point-of-Collection Tests (POCT)
Point-of-Collection Tests (POCT) are collected under the same strict protocols as laboratory-based tests, but can provide an immediate indication of what substances are present in the system. POCTs are ideal for personal matters where a legally defensible result may not be necessary. We offer 8, 10 and 12 panel POCT tests and can include ETG (alcohol) if requested.
Random Testing Program
Random Testing Program participants have signed a customized testing agreement with Pegasus, and consent to be contacted on a truly random basis to attend for drug and/or alcohol screening. Test results and compliance reports can be released to employers, legal counsel, or family members upon request.
One-Time Testing
One-Time Testing for drugs and alcohol is available for those who need to ascertain the presence of substances on short notice. Pegasus can generally accommodate same-day appointments, and negative POCT results for urine samples with accompanying documentation and clearance letter are provided immediately.
Hair Follicle Testing
Hair Follicle Testing is intended to indicate approximately 90 days of prior substance use. All hair samples are collected under strict Chain of Custody protocol by trained and certified collectors, and the laboratory results are reviewed and released by a certified Medical Review Officer and are considered legally defensible. Pegasus offers hair testing for a wide variety of licit and illicit substances.
PEth Blood Spot Testing
PEth (phosphaditylethanol) is a direct biomarker of alcohol consumption, and can reliably indicate approximately 30 days of prior alcohol use. Drops of blood from a thumb or finger are collected on a dried spot collection card and sent to the laboratory for analysis. PEth testing is less invasive than a blood draw, with a faster turnaround of results.
